The fruit is gently pressed together with the seeds to produce a rich, cloudy juice - with a typical fruity, slightly tart flavour. Characteristic is its intense chocolatey colour, which is due to the naturally occurring polyphenols (secondary plant substances). The juice contains only the natural sweetness of the fruit (naturally contains sugar).

It tastes good on its own, in mixed drinks and is suitable as a base for fruit desserts or to refine salad dressings.
