The Sentinus enclosure ...The Altair Sentinus Allsky Dome Housing has been designed from the ground up and tested over a two year period by several Allsky enthusiasts to ensure durability and flexibility.

There have been no less than 6 iterations of the product to refine the design. The Sentinus enclosure is rainproof and can be opened and closed without any tools due to the innovative design. Various cameras and lenses can be added by means of a height-adjustable internal mounting which can be easily un-clipped to remove the camera.The cavity below the camera is designed to house a Rasberry Pi, Mini-PC or similar device by means of a flat mounting plate which slides easily into place.

Or you can just add cables to the camera directly, out of the housing base. The Sentinus enclosure can be mounted on the included wall bracket with one hand for additional safety - for example if you are standing on a ladder. There is a recess for a cable tie for added security.

Four screws are required to fasten the wall bracket to any surface. The base has 3 holes for cables. Two holes are 30mm diameter and include plugs, These are compatible with widely available screw-in USB adaptors and cable glands.

The 3rd hole in the base contains a 12v DC input socket. Two bare wires are included with the socket and a 12v 2.1x5.5mm plug is included for you to wire up to your chosen power source such as a 12v / 5v splitter for Rasberry Pi. (You can use cable terminal connectors so no soldering is required).

Furthermore, the base allows the Altair Allsky Camera Enclosure to be mounted on a camera tripod with non-corroding 1/4"UNC standard camera tripod thread. The enclosure is made of high quality UV-stable heat-resistant PETG plastic, and is robustly made. Samples of this material have been exposed to 6 summers and winters without any deterioration.

The included transparent dome is made from a special UV resistant acrylic, unlike other cheaper domes. The thickness is more consistent for better optical clarity. Optional items and accessories: An optional street light shroud is available, which eliminates all but the worst cases of internal reflection caused by bright nearby lights.

(Choose in menu when ordering). An optional dew heater ring is available which fits the camera mounting. This is a sealed silicon unit which is more robust than resistor type designs and it is moisture-proof.

(Choose in menu when ordering). An optional Altair C-Mount lens is available with 180 Degree Field of View supporting 1/2" CMOS sensors with 1.55mm at f2 focal ratio. (Choose in menu when ordering).
