In addition to its wonderful foliage, this tree also has magnificent large spring blooms. The brilliant white flowers appear in a bold star shape that almost entirely covers the tree and looks incredible in April. As the flowers fade this then turns to fruit that appears in wonderful shades of bright purple and red to complement the autumnal foliage.

This low-maintenance and hardy tree can be planted in a range of soil types, in full sun or partial shade. To achieve the best autumn colour it should be planted in full sun. Due to its compact growth and shape, this versatile tree can be planted in a range of spaces such as a courtyard or city garden, or as part of a wildlife garden in a larger space.
