Calibrated for even pitch, the chain is hot dipped galvanized to minimize corrosion and is welded for high strength. The specially treated 3-Strand medium lay nylon rope is spliced to chain with a tapered back splice which allows smooth transition from rope to chain around the gypsy. This arrangement ensures the smooth running of your windlass, while hand sewn whipping guarantees against unraveling.
