Diffusers made of stainless steel have a fine-pored surface making it a difficult place for algae to settle. If however, they do succeed, immerse the diffuser in a liquid containing chlorine or algaecide. But don't forget to rinse it thoroughly with clean water afterwards to remove any residues.
