- The BM1 Grungemaster is set up to be tuned an octave lower than a traditional guitar. As opposed to a more 'regular' 34 scale length, the GM1 features a short, 30 scale, with an ergonomic, narrow (42mm at the nut) maple neck which will feel extremely familiar to guitarists making the switch to the rhythm section. Fresh from the box with string gauges of 84, 72, 56, 44, 34, 24 (from low to high), you won't find the thickness expected of traditional bass guitars; rather, melodic players a la Robert Smith and Peter Hook will appreciate the increased cut-through of the BM1's increased treble response and extended range.
