The mix is also designed to bake level, so you don’t have to cut off the top before decorating, saving you plenty of time for the important part - feasting! Available in 500g and 1kg.

For best results, decorate your cake within 48 hours of baking and consume within 10 days of baking. Suitable for Vegetarians Recipe: For an 8 inch round cake. 500g Cake Mix 150g Vegetable Oil 175g Egg 115g Water Method: Put the mix and vegetable oil in a bowl and mix for about 30 seconds on a slow speed until a smooth liquid paste is formed.

Pour in the water and egg over 1 minute while mixing on a slow speed, scrape down the sides. Mix for 2 minutes on a fast speed using a handheld electric mixer or for 4 minutes on medium speed using a tabletop mixer. Place the desired amount of mix into a greased or paper-lined tin.

Bake in a domestic fan oven at 1300C. For the 8" round cake above, bake for 1 hour 25 minutes. Test with a cake skewer.

If the skewer comes out clean, then the cake is usually baked. Individual ovens vary. Adjust the baking profile as required for the oven or for the cake size and weight you require.
