All lenses have fully multicoated surfaces which prevents annoying internal reflections efficiently. Every eyepiece is equipped with a foldable rubber eyecup to avoid stray light from the sides and the inner eyepiece shaft is carefully blackened as well, which works in concert with the multicoating and helps boost contrast yet further. Housing and eyepiece shaft are completely made from metal, no plastic is used in the construction of the eyepiece.

Filter thread for use with colour and light polution filters is also available. Plossl eyepieces offer a much better image quality than the very simply made Kellner and Huygens eyepieces that are often provided with beginners telescopes, making this eyepiece an ideal low cost upgrade.
