They are colour coded depending on size, for easy identification. Wedge shaped shim with a distinctive serrated design which allows a pair of them to achieve a precise, level, non-slip thickness. The slot allows 2 of them to be placed around the fixing, facing each other, and then adjusted to the desired thickness.
