Uses for these art sponges include painting, blending, sponging, marbling, pottery, decorating, and for any other arts and crafts pursuits. Our sponges are carefully curated to measure between approximately 10cm and 12cm each, having been skillfully cut in half from a larger sponge to be used for your artistic pursuits. However, if they are slightly smaller or larger than this you can be safe in the knowledge that your sponges are completely natural and unique! Perfect with Acrylic, Oil, Watercolour, Fabric Paints, Pottery, Ceramics, Painting & Decorating. Produce unique and beautiful patterns on your ceramic creations with various sponge techniques. The round sides and flat ‘cut’ sides of each art sponge creates different effects and finishes.

Use Wet or Dry Use the sponges dry for oil and acrylic paints, detailing, fabric painting, pottery and ceramics. Or dampen before use to soften; perfect for dabbing, smudging and watercolours. Caring for Your Art Sponges Rinse sponges with water before first use to soften.

After using, simply rinse with clean water, squeeze out excess water and leave to dry before you are ready to use again. Allow to air dry to avoid mould growth and prolong their use. To help revitalise your natural sponges and extend their life, you may also wish to clean them from time to time.

To do so, mix a tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl of water and allow them to soak for 15 minutes. Then rinse with clean water as normal and allow to air dry. Sponges can be composted when they become brittle or no longer needed due to being naturally biodegradable.
