These are unusual pencils from Caran d'Ache, with one made from Swiss beech, another from Swiss pine and the third from Scots Pine, rather than the traditional cedar wood. The beech pencil has been stained dark, to accentuate the white embossing on the shaft, while the two pine pencils have black embossing. Another neat design touch is that the ends of the pencils have been dipped in a rich red paint and finished with a Swiss flag.
