Tacks is the most famous out of all CCM lines of skates, with history dating back to year 1937! Nowadays, they are targeted at players looking for most supportive and rigid boots, allowing to take advantage of powerful stride.

Their price is very attractive – even if you visit local rink only few times per season, you may want to get these instead of relying on rather mixed bag of skates available at rental.

Even though these are basic, they are still Tacks, so their boot is relatively rigid, especially considering their cost. It is injection moulded boot, made in process similar to one used for production of hardboot inline skates. Stiffness is ensured by addition of glass fibers to plastic compound, which makes it more durable, too.

Shell is designed to be anatomically correct in ankle area. Lining is made out of thick and comfortable foams covered in microfibre material. Thanks to it, skates are comfortable right from the start, without extended break-in period.

Tongue is made out of felt just like in professional skates and protects from light hits during play. Tacks AS-550’s blade holder does not allow for swapping blades, but is of the same shape as more premium one used in higher models of the line. Thus, it provides the same great energy transfer.

The blade comes pre-sharpened for safety reasons, but sharpening before first session on ice is needed to ensure optimal skating experience.
