Hildy Johnson has divorced Walter Burns and visits him at work to tell him she is engaged to another man and intends to marry the day after. Walter can't let this happen and frames the other man, Bruce Baldwin, for a lot of things getting him into trouble all of the time. Meanwhile, Walter is trying to get Hildy to take her old job back as editor of his newspaper.
