Lakelandite has a wonderful combination of the dark greenish grey crystalline rock Basalt and the pale cream feldspar solution known as Bytownite. Formed about 470 million years ago in a violent and cataclysmic time in the Lake District, this rock was created and subsequently buried and eventually exposed by glacial action and erosion.
