The CYP AU-D1 is an excellent DAC (digital to analogue audio converter) for passing audio from a digital output to an analogue amplifier. It converts a digital optical input to analogue stereo (via a Toslink connection). Powered from a USB connection, it's ideal for digital outputs from sources such as televisions and Blu-ray players as it will share their power supply.
