Holes in the base enable you to bolt the machine onto a workbench. The large infeed and outfeed tables provide plenty of support and are easily adjustable for a snipe-free finish. The cutter head is supported on four columns offering smooth and accurate movement.

The thickness scale is clear and easy to read and can be recalibrated if need be. The crank handle is graduated making small adjustments quick and easy. At the front of the machine is a material removal gauge which tells you how much material your 'pass' will remove before you press the start button.

The lever operated head-lock eliminates any movement in the cutter head, ensuring a better surface finish.With a feed rate of 8m/min and a 2-knife cutter block rotating 10,000 times per minute a fine finish is guaranteed. The machine is capable of planing from 152m down to a thickness of 3.2mm. The DeWALT 733 comes with a dust extraction hood, connection to a suitable extractor will be found to be of great benefit.
