An anti-lock flange prevents the flanges from permanently locking up which can often make changing discs a problem. Fully leaded stator windings increase the motor durability as do the pop-off brushes. The dust ejection system removes the majority of debris from the air which passes over the motor further adding to its service life.

The grinder has a no-volt-release switch, preventing accidental start-up in the event of a temporary power failure. Type 27 guard. The guard design allows guard fitting, adjusting or removing without the use of tools, for increased flexibility.
