This means that on a direct comparison with standard k-class halogen lamps these perform approx 10-15% more efficiently. They also have an average life of 5000 hrs in comparison to 2000 hrs normally provided by standard halogen lamps.

These lamps also boast a reduce internal gas pressure below 1 bar when operating at full power making them safer as they will not explode or shatter on failure.
