This formula has a moderately fast drying rate and an increased gloss finish. Proper use of Gamblins Solvent-Free Fluid will ensure proper drying times and finish. Follow Gamblin guidelines by using this product in moderation when mixing oil colors to prevent any beading-up of paint layers; Ideally, no more than 25% by volume.

Artists should apply colors mixed with Gamblins Solvent-Free Fluid in thin layers to avoid wrinkling. When using this medium for underpainting, Gamblin recommends adding a touch of Gamsol. Gamblin produces their Solvent-Free Fluid medium using alkyd resin and natural, raw safflower oil and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates.
