The kit also includes Mulch Caps which locate on top of the 11 Litre pots. The Mulch Caps help to retain moisture but also create a barrier against pests. The Mulch Caps and the Smart Reservoir feature cane grip grommets, meaning that you can easily create a stable crop support structure using bamboo canes.

Note bamboo canes are not included in the kit. The unit requires no electricity or timers as it works on a wick-based system. This works through FeederMats inside the pots pulling water up from the 15 litre Smart Reservoir into the soil around the plants roots - precisely where it is needed by the plants.
