The hinge length to be used depends on the application, 1/3 the width (or next hinge size up) of the gate or door for a normal domestic installation, with the hinge length being 1/2 the door or gate width (or nearest hinge size up) for industrial use of heavy duty domestic use. Unlike the Galv and standard black band and gudgeon hinges, the premium black hook and band hinges are only manufactured in four sizes 18′′/450mm, 24′′/600mm, 750mm/30′′ and 36′′/900mm. All hinges are supplied with screws and bolts.

Unlike the normal range of E-black ironmongery, the premium range of black ironmongery is steel that has undergone galvanisation (hot dipped/hot spelter galv) that is then powder coated black. This gives two levels of protection to the ironmongery with the powder coating adding to the already long lasting galv!
