It is not rechargeable but it is very long lasting, making it particularly suitable for use in film and digital cameras, as well as in laser sights and other small electronic devices. When used in cameras it will provide consistent performance when using flash, with very short recycle times. Its ability to cope well with extremes of temperature and give a steady charge within a range of -40C to 60C also makes it especially useful for outdoor photography.

This single use 3-volt battery has a capacity of 800mAh and is leak resistant. Lithium has a longer discharge curve than most alkaline batteries, meaning that the GP CR2 can retain its charge for up to ten years for longer shelf life and home storage. It is environmentally friendly and contains no mercury, cadmium or lead.
