Their low weight is made possible by combining a steel front section and a lightweight metal back section. The 12 points are aligned in such a way that they prevent you from slipping in any direction and therefore increase your safety on the mountain. Special anti-slab plates from Grivel are integrated to reduce the unpleasant formation to prevent snow from balling underneath on the glacier.
