The bottles contain a sterile 0.9% saline solution that can also be used to clean wounds. HSE guidelines state that at least 1 litre of eyewash should be available at any given time in work environments where flying debris or chemicals could pose a danger to the eye.

Following eye contamination with chemicals or small particles, you should wash the eye out with either clean water or sterile fluid from a sealed container for at least 10 minutes. The HypaClens Sterile Eyewash is intended as a substitute for clean running water in first aid situations each bottle should only be used once. After the initial use of the bottle, its contents can no longer be considered sterile and could pose a risk of infection.

After use, any excess fluid remaining in the bottle should be discarded. The HypaClens Sterile Eyewash is also available in 250ml.
