All you'll need to do is add a couple of drops to the old polish, screw the lid on tightly and mix. If you shake the bottle to mix thoroughly, make sure to leave the polish for a few hours before using as shaking the bottle introduces air and bubbles into the polish that may show up when drying. If the polish still isn't to the desired consistency, add the thinner 3-5 drops at a time and mix well again.

Polishes that have almost completely dried will require a large amount of thinner (2+ times the dried volume) and should be left overnight for the thinner to work effectively.
