Made from blue oxidized brass, the design was inspired by Straight Design Studio’s Viktor Erlandsson’s fascination with old utility objects that are at risk of being forgotten. Composed of a minimalist frame and a rounded knob, Klonk fits seamlessly onto both contemporary facades and old, ornate doors. At the same time, it brings attention back to the physical ritual of knocking – a small gesture that feels distinctly different from pressing a doorbell.
