Made from aviation-grade aluminium, they offer an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, making them lighter than most stirrups on the market at just 419g each, without compromising stability.

The ergonomic sole of the Balance stirrup is angled at 5°, featuring a cross grip surface and integrated hardened steel pins, which provide lower leg stability while keeping heels down. The sole is supported by a dual-balance arch system that evenly distributes weight across the base of the stirrup frame. The top of the frame is set back and offset, encouraging an outward angle of 45°, making it easier for the rider to find the optimal foot position and retrieve a lost stirrup.

An integrated hinged arm has a two-step release system, preventing accidental opening. The spring arm locks into the base of the main frame, which means that in cases of maximum pressure, such as landing after a jump, the rider's weight is evenly distributed across the stirrup, preventing the outside from bending. When pressure is applied to the stirrup arm, the arm releases allowing the foot to exit the stirrup, minimizing the risk of dragging.

The breakaway force of the stirrup arm = 36N (equivalent to 3.62 kg) during testing, meaning sufficient strength to prevent accidental opening, but it will release if necessary. It is important to note that no stirrup of this design (with a quick-release arm) is guaranteed to open 100% in the event of a fall. Several factors, including a fall from the horse, a loose girth causing saddle slip, or a slow or unusual exit angle may not generate enough lateral force to open the release arm.

This is very rare, but users should be aware that no stirrup is completely fail-safe in all situations. Compliance with competition regulations (FEI, British Dressage, British Eventing and British Showjumping).
