By simply wrapping the aerial around a cold water pipe the low frequency radio waves generated by the LP unit propagate up and down the Water in the pipe so the direction and speed of water flow is unimportant. The specially generated radio waves cause the ions and calcium and carbonate dissolved in hard water to re-crystallise as microscopic chalk crystals.
