Due to the different connection requirements of MDPE and copper pipes for a watertight seal, this adaptor is essential. To ensure a leak-free seal on the copper pipe, it is recommended to use a small amount of PTFE plumbers tape on the thread where it joins the adaptor and around the olive washer.
