In 'Gary and Tony', Gary (Martin Clunes) needs a new flatmate, and all seems lost until Tony (Neil Morrissey) turns up. 'Rent Boy' sees Gary beginning to have doubts about Tony's sexuality, while in 'How to Dump Your Girlfriend', Tony decides that he needs to finish with his girlfriend before he can embark on a relationship with neighbour Deborah. 'Troublesome 12 inch' sees Gary in trouble after selling one of Dorothy's records without her knowledge, and in 'Going Nowhere', Tony purchases a van and electric blanket in the hope of seducing Deborah.

Unfortunately for everyone, however, she is stuck in a lift with Gary. 'People Behaving Irritatingly' sees Tony's nightmare brother and his girlfriend coming to stay - much to Gary's annoyance.
