A CDG is a Compact Disc plus Graphics, which is merely a CD with information stored on a data track simultaneous to music. It has a video output for simple graphics (but not full music video). This is a useful karaoke tool as it stores graphics so they can be used with song lyrics, and display the lyrics in sync with the music.

In most cases, CDGs display song lyrics, which change colour to determine time they are to be sung. A television with phono outputs is all that's required to display CDG lyrics. Comes with Echo Volume Control: This creates minor feedback in the voice of the karaoke singer, adding resonance to support the vocalist.
