The chains are made of titanium-reinforced, hardened steel links that resist cutting or prying. The chain cover protects paint and finishes, with an embroidered logo that won’t flake or wear off. Locking mechanisms secure the lock at multiple points - X4P Quattro Bolt shackles on models with separate shackle.

It uses a Z-cylinder tumbler mechanism that is bump-proof and resists picking, pulling, or drilling. The co-molded crossbar cover protects finishes and all-metal endcaps protect against hits and drops. The automatic keyway cover helps seal the lock internals against the elements.

It includes 5 laser-cut keys, 1 with micro-LED. The 8020 model has a length of 3.5 feet, with a 10mm link gauge and integrated lock diameter.
