Thanks to its light weight, small pack size and easy handling it is perfectly suitable also for long and challenging ski tours. What is more, this system can be combined with many backpacks of the Ortovox AVABAG series making it universally usable. With its 640 g and 1.8 l pack size it is lighter than an average water bottle and doesn't take much space within the backpack.

Its small size notwithstanding, this avalanche airbag system is reliable and effective. The release unit has been designed as entirely closed system and doesn't need any electronics. This also means that stains or freezing which might affect the functionality can be excluded.

The airbag itself is made in a way ensuring an extremely high tear strength and airtightness. At that an elaborate welding technology allows for a small pack size. Another convenient aspect is that the entire avalanche airbag system can be integrated in and removed from the backpack with just a few hand movements.

The deployment handle can be used without any problem even when wearing thick gloves. Like this it gets much easier to release the airbag. Two length positions and the frontal positioning of the grip guarantee ease of access, even in the case of awkward falls.
