Panacur is a popular spectrum wormer. Containing the active ingredient Fenbendazole, Panacur treats and controls adult stages of all main species of Round worms, migrating larval and destroys worm eggs. Prescribed as a single dose or over five days.

For best results against migrating and encysted larvae, Panacur provides reliable results. Dosage and Administration For the control and treatment of tissue and migrating larval stages or large strongyles, encysted mucosal, 3rd and 4th stage small strongyle larvae and encysted inhibited 3rd stage small strongyle larvae in the muscosa. One should provide 5ml of the Equine guard/ 65kg of body weight daily for 5 days (= 7.5mg fenbendazole/kg of body weight daily for 5 days).

The full daily dosage must be given as one administration. Pregnant mares and foals may also be safely treated with febendazole at therapeutic dosage levels. Bodyweight should be accurately measures before calculating the dosage, the use of a 'weigh band' is recommended.

Recommended Dosing Programme Treatment of encysted inhibited and encysted mucosal larvae should be performed in the autumn (October/November) and repeated in the Spring (February). For Horses that fail to keep-up condition or bought-in horses with unknown worming history, the treatment can be given at any time of the year. Treatment with this product should form part of an integrated worming plan.

Panacur has been extensively used for the treatment of worm infestations in exotic animal species.
