The large lens has a magnification factor of 2.5x; the small lens a magnification factor of 5x. The excellent quality of the silicate glass lens, which is also resistant to scratching and solvents, provides a magnified image which is extremely sharp and clear. The lens is made from optically pure white crown glass, produced using UV-absorbing crown glass; the same type of glass as used for corrective eye glasses (refractive index n= 1.52).
