The handle automatically returns to a 'safe' position when released. The climber can install the RIG without removing the device from a carabiner. The pivoting cam allows for slack removal when ascending.

Because no 'panic' option exists, arborists should only use the Petzl RIG as a lowerable ground anchor with appropriate ground worker training. Check for access rope compatibility before investing in this product.
