Whether preparing new plaster, smoothing joints or sanding primed or painted ceilings and walls, the Rutlands drywall random orbital sander ensures maximum coverage with minimal effort. At 1.4m in length and weighing only 3.2kg, the sander has been ergonomically designed at the optimum working length for standard room heights, for comfortable, low-exertion sanding on walls and ceilings. With exceptionally low levels of vibration (0.6m/s²), the sander offers precise control and allows for long periods of use without fatigue.

The articulated sanding head provides 180° of flexibility, allowing you to approach the working area from the ideal angle. An ultra-bright LED light ring around the sanding head illuminates the work surface, revealing any unevenness or imperfections whilst enhancing visibility in dark conditions. The powerful yet lightweight 400W maintenance-free motor features soft start, eliminating sudden jerking on startup.

The motor speed can be set through a 4,000 - 8,500rpm range using the handle mounted control buttons, to suit the surface material and removal rate required. With intelligent speed control, the pre-selected motor speed is kept constant during use, ensuring a uniform sanding speed and consistent surface finish. Speed memory ensures that when taking a break and turning the sander off, the previously used speed setting is retained when the sander is turned back on again.

Overload and overheating protection ensure both the sander and work surface and are protected should the working pressure become too high, or airflow to the sander restricted. Work dust-free using one of two dust extraction modes. The wall sanding mode reduces suction power, allowing the sander to glide effortlessly across walls without resistance.

The ceiling sanding mode maximises suction power, allowing the sander to hold its own weight against ceilings, relieving the strain on arms and shoulders. For maximum dust extraction efficiency, the drywall sander is recommended for use with net abrasives and a connected M class dust extractor. Supplied with the sander is a 225mm backing pad, 4 metre power cable, 4.8 metre stretch dust hose and adaptors.
