Made from aluminium, they are held against the work piece either by hand or secured with a clamp. The 25mm high, machined reference face is embedded with a series of 18mm diameter rare earth magnets and faced with a 1mm thick strip of ribbed, low friction UHMW. The magnets assist in holding the saw square throughout the cut and the UHMW strip ensures the saw glides smoothly back and forth.

On the underside of the saw guide is a full width high friction strip to prevent the guide from slipping on the surface of the wood. The guides are made from aircraft-grade aluminium which is beautifully finished in black electro-coating and a metric graduated scale, in 1mm increments is etched to the surface for use as a precision rule. The set comprises of a 200mm saw guide with three rare earth magnets and a 400mm saw guide with 4 rare earth magnets.

Both guides measure 70mm in width with a 25mm face. Two additional strips of UHMW tape and a metre length of double side tape are supplied with the set. These guides are excellent for use with both Japanese and Western saws and are particularly useful when cross cutting tenons and producing dado's and dovetails.
