In extremely soiled condition, they can be separated from the spur strap and soaked for a few minutes in hot water before wiping effortlessly clean! The longer spur bud has more influence, and can be preferred for a smaller rider or a less reactive horse. The ends curve downwards, and the blunted tip provides an edge that can be used on occasion for a more sensitive response.
