This reduces all-important rotating weight, while still keeping performance high. The cutouts in the brake track prevent grit and grime from reducing brake performance, and the air also does a bit in terms of limiting heat build-up. The aluminum center also helps a bit with controlling heat.

The rotor's edges are rounded, a concession to UCI concerns for riding safety. In terms of braking performance, it has no effect whatsoever. In terms of wheel changes, it should make it slightly easier.

The SRAM CenterLine X Rotor comes in six-bolt and CenterLock mounting styles. The 140mm rotor weighs 86g, the 160mm rotor 102g, the 180mm rotor 125g.
