The automatic control models are equipped with dual elements and a keep warm facility, the urn will automatically boil when switched on and will continue to boil at the desired set temperature.

Once the temperature of the water drops below a certain level around 90 degrees, the automatic control kicks back in to re-boil the water. What is simmerstat control? Simmerstat control means the urns are manually set via a dial which will determine the temperature and frequency that the urn boils. For example, the higher setting NO.5 will keep the urn continually boiling, whereas the lower settings 1 or 2 will keep the urn simmering at a temperature.

This will periodically boil if not adjusted manually when the temperature is low.
