History: Introduced in 1981, the Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC was the range-topping coupé version of the W126 S-Class, representing the pinnacle of German luxury motoring in the 1980s. Powered by a 5.0-litre V8 producing around 231 horsepower, it combined effortless performance with remarkable refinement. The sleek, pillarless coupé design projected sophistication, while advanced safety features—such as anti-lock brakes and a rigid passenger cell—kept it ahead of its time.

Popular with executives and celebrities, the 500 SEC became an icon of prestige and power, remaining one of Mercedes’ most celebrated coupés to this day.
