This natural evolution of the beloved original features stereo signal processing throughout, Bluetooth MIDI connectivity, USB-C charging, and an impressive 24-hour battery life.

The redesigned aluminium body sits lower around the keyboard for a lighter, more precise feel, while the new speaker system with passive driver produces detailed, powerful sound that defies its compact size. Professional musicians and sound designers will appreciate the enhanced sampling capabilities, with the new stereo sample engine offering up to 20 seconds of recording time and dual layer mode for instant A/B channel mixing. Four distinct recording formats—studio 4-track, vintage 4-track, Porta and Disc Mini—each bring their own sonic character and visual identity.

With support for up to 8 tapes or discs total, creative possibilities expand dramatically beyond the original's limitations. As part of Teenage Engineering's field system, the OP-1 field pairs seamlessly with the TX-6 portable mixer to create an incredibly powerful, battery-powered recording and performance setup. Full compatibility with iOS, macOS and Windows, combined with high-resolution audio and MIDI interconnectivity, makes this the most capable portable music production system available today.

A recent firmware update adds the iconic vocoder to the OP-1 field's sonic arsenal—the same technology that shaped electronic music through artists like Kraftwerk, Herbie Hancock and Daft Punk. Now you can sculpt and synthesise vocals directly on the device without additional gear, bringing decades of electronic music history to your fingertips.
