Tolerant to dry soils and a good all round tough plant. They are ideal for growing as a formal hedge as the tolerate regular clipping and can be shaped into topiary very easily.. Unsurprisingly, Taxus baccata has been awarded a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit.
