They are a star ingredient of Key Lime Pie and are also known as the Bartender’s Lime due to their popular use in cocktails. Smaller in size yet bursting with flavour, the Florida Key Lime or Mexican Lime stands out with its intense tartness and distinctively aromatic profile. Measuring between 4-6cm in diameter, each fruit boasts a thinner skin and more seeds.

The fruits eventually ripen to a pale yellow but for the best flavour should be harvested whilst still green. - The Key Lime forms a bushy, thorny shrub or small tree with glossy, evergreen foliage. Flowers and fruit can appear throughout the year but are most abundant from May to September.

The creamy-white flowers emit a captivating fragrance, making Citrus plants a cherished addition to conservatories and patios, infusing any space with their enchanting perfume over an extended season. - Hardy to 5°C, they are best grown outdoors from May to October, and brought inside for the winter. - Eventual height: 3m (9').
