Both congas are equipped with natural skins, which are held by black powder-coated"Easy Play" tension hoops. The matt black shell hardware contrasts well with the bright, glossy lacquered surface of the shells in the Natural-Finish and the chrome-plated tensioning hooks. These self-imposed principles are also uncompromisingly implemented in the production of the Synergy Congas. The wood used for Synergy instruments comes exclusively from plantations in Thailand, where it is used by local musicians to make high-quality instruments. Unnecessarily long transport routes and the extraction of wood from (primeval) forests are thus avoided.
