As the blooms mature, their vibrant tones mellow into a more subdued, antique finish, transforming into soft watercolour hues of olive, lavender, and salmon. The delicate, fluted petals contribute to its timeless, vintage charm. First introduced in 1947, Tulip 'Artist' is one of the most celebrated viridiflora varieties, earning an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
