Wildflower honey is produced by the bees of Northumberland Honey Co during the summer months and is a wonderfully polyfloral honey. With the bees foraging on lime trees, hedgerows, brambles and clover. Runny honey will stay runnier for longer if purchased in the summer months straight after extraction, but if stored and then pre-warmed then it will re-set.

This is a natural process that all pure honey goes through. For example the summer honey of 2023 was mainly clover and bramble that the bees got to forage on with the wet conditions washing the nectar from the lime trees. Hence the summer honey from the 2023 season does set quicker than the runny honey of the previous season.

Honey is not pasteurized so retains the benefit of ‘raw’ honey and has excellent clarity for regular jarring. Set Honey or Pre-warming? Naturally all honey sets over time. You can select to have the honey pre-warmed to save you doing the warming.

There is a small cost per bucket for pre-warming on the 1kg and 4kg buckets, this cost is waived when purchasing the larger 14kg buckets. Please note, depending on how runny you would like the honey, some final warming may be required once the honey reaches you. This depends on storage, storage time and transport temperature which can effect the rate of setting of honey.
