The DS2208 automatically detects handheld and presentation mode simply by being placed in or taken out of the presentation stand. This multifunctional area imager is ready to use right out of the box thanks to comprehensive pre-configuration – just unpack and get started. The connection cable (available in USB, RS232, KBW, or IBM) is automatically recognized by the DS2208 through Auto-Host-Detect upon connection, requiring no further settings.

With Zebra's free remote software SMS (Scanner Management Service), you can manage and configure the DS2208 and many other models worldwide from a PC, smartphone, or tablet. Switching from 1D to 2D is easy with Zebra, as there is full backward compatibility with all existing connection cables of the widely used Zebra LS2208.
